Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine

Class of 2011

East-Asian medicine is a clinical approach to health care that has been refined and honed over thousands of years. For most of that time the focus of its transmission has been the clinic, where knowledge grows organically out of experience as master practitioners pass on what they know to apprentices. We believe that a modern acupuncture program still must be grounded in the clinic.  Read a Message from the Directors

Class of 2008

Lyle is a native of Atlanta, GA. During her time at Wellesley College, she lived abroad in Beijing, China to study Mandarin Chinese and became interested in Asian healing traditions. It was not until she received her first acupuncture treatment 10 years ago that she discovered her life's work. During her three years as a student at SIOM, she worked as an intern in Dr. Kerong Xie's clinic, a well-known Chinese medicine doctor's clinic in Seattle specializing in fertility and women's health. Lyle has completed DONA training as a Birth Doula in addition to specialized training in using acupuncture in labor and delivery to ease pain and prevent complications. Her special interest is women's health, fertility, pregnancy and post-partum care, but she welcomes all to her clinic and finds joy in helping people from all walks of life find wellness and balance. Lyle is excited to be practicing at the East Nashville Community Acupuncture Clinic and to be helping bring affordable health care to the Middle Tennessee community.

Lyle is certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners as an Acupuncturist.
